1961 I was born in Winterthur. Aged 16, I spent 6 months in Geneva and 6 months in Paris as an «au-pair», before I started my commercial studies in Zurich. My strong wish to travel brought me to Australia and Italy for several months, where I engaged with language and art. Alongside my job, I studied at the school of art in Zurich.
After moving westwards in 1994, the second phase of my life started with my family, house, and garden. For 14 years I had my own Atelier in Murten’s old town, where around 100 oil paintings were created and shown in several exhibitions. But also my engagements for the International Jazzfestival Bern and the Jazz Club Avenches are important to me.
Besides various painting courses I graduated the preparatory course at the school of design in Bern: My playful final piece «Pars pro toto» is involving around 1000 feathers, most of which I gathered myself, along with 2 heron’s feet and a stork’s skull. I also used these animals’ body parts to explore the mystical background of these materials, I experimented and created something new and unpredicted. Parallel to this, I finished a 21-metre-long mural painting in the Land Rover garage in Treiten/BE.
Les Ponts-de-Martel in the Jura is the place, where, since 2020, I have my new atelier. It gives me inspiration and an enormous artistic freedom.
The oil painting "Nature Morte" was created there for the art competition of the Thomas Demarmels Foundation. It was awarded second place. As from mid January 2024 the painting will exposed at the Bernapark Museum.
